Switch to Pet Manager Software

General Switch Process:
Discover the general process that we go by to switch over to utilising Pet Manager as the Software provider for your Pet Business.
Through our website (which you are currently on ☺) you can click on any of the Free Trial links (after you have read below of course) to start your free trial.
A free trial allows for 30 days of almost all functionality of the fully paid product. The only features you can't test is the Xero plugin which is a paid addon and the SMS & Bulk Email Credits which all require a paid subscription.
The trial subscription starts as a Deluxe edition, but you can change it during your trial to one of our other offerings, even Multi-Site if that is applicable to you. You do this through Settings > Account inside Pet Manager.
The Trial Subscription does not require a credit card. It does require some information to get you started though. A wizard process will take you through step by step to get into a basic setup where you can start adding a test booking.
Be aware - we always recommend that you do a FREE walkthrough/setup session (see step 2 below). The reason for this is that there are numerous settings in Pet Manager and our skillful and knowledgeable team can guide you quickly to all the settings that matter to you and allow you to avoid the ones that don't.
We do have amazing documentation to read if you like to self pace, although at least a short FREE online setup session is recommended.
At the end of your trial you can simply select your relevant plans and enter your credit/debit card details to continue with the settings/data you entered in the trial. Please note: the trial ends immediately on entering your card and there is no credit or refund for time remaining on your trial. If you don't enter your card at the end of the trial, the database will remain there for a while in trial mode with any settings and data you added before being automatically deleted. Speak to us if you are still a few months away from opening.
Most pet businesses have something they do that is unique and our software is built to meet your needs.
Our wonderful staff will take you through a fully guided setup for all of the service types you support.
They have professional experience in many past setups so can guide you step by step to getting completely setup and ready to use or test Pet Manager to its fullest.
The estimated time for a normal setup is 2hrs of uninterrupted time. Find a time where the person from your team engaged with setting it up has some quiet and focused time.
The sort of information to bring to a session like that would be: logo & business details, services offered, pen numbers and types, service offerings, pricing information, terms and conditions, Tax ID for your country, staffing information etc. We will work with you to get that information input and configure and ready to use.
This session is completely FREE and with no obligation. If you don't decide on Pet Manager for whatever reason, you can simply walk away.
Even if you are tech savvy, we recommend even a short Setup Session just to check over the settings you have made and make you aware of any features that would be perfect for your business that you might have missed.

Looking to move from a competitor product or maybe even a simple form or spreadsheet?
If you can provide your customer and pet data in a suitable format, we can look at performing an import for you.
As of June 2026 we are offering this service for FREE!
If you are moving from other Pet specific software, then the pet information will certainly be in the format we require. Please see below for the specifics of a few competitor products and what to ask them for. Often times, requesting directly from the other software provider is better than just exporting yourself from the application front-end.
The sort of information that can be imported includes: customers, pets, vaccinations, vets and notes. Please note: we cannot import pricing or booking information. Please see step 7 below for further details on the plan for this.
We require around 2-3 business days to import your data. After this we will contact you to check over the information in your Pet Manager account and confirm it all looks good.
From there you are ready to start inputting your bookings (see step 6) from a "Go Live" date.
If you are an existing business moving from other software, now is the time to proceed with entering booking information. If you are a new startup you can skip this step.
Choosing a "Go Live" date is a key step here. Choose a date in the future that is viable for you to be able to input all of your future bookings by. That way you are not chasing your tail trying to input tomorrows bookings when there is no chance of going live tomorrow!
The "Go Live" date is normally around 7-14 days in the future, but work to a schedule that suits staff availability and seasonal factors.
The person tasked with inputting the bookings will normally have a second computer or second monitor so they can have Pet Manager and the other system up at the same time.
As you will have your current customers and pets already loaded that will certainly speed up the process noticeably.
They will work diligantly, adding all bookings that are checking in or are already checked in on the "Go Live" date. They then work forward from this date to input all remaining bookings.
We have found customers have been much more efficient by allocating a specific staff member with roster hours for this specific task, rather than having them work on it in between their normal work.
This process will also make that staff member very familiar with the Pet Manager system.
At this point you can enable the Pet Manager online customer portal on your website (if you choose to use it). The bookings have been entered so the availability should now be correct when potential customers are searching.
The customer portal itself has two options - you can embed it directly into a page on your website (Portal Code). This normally works well for systems that offer a lot of customization and code adding e.g. wordpress.
You can also simply link from your website to the hosted version of our customer portal (Portal Link).
You can view details regarding both of these options from within your pet manager account under settings > customer portal.
Any customers who were imported during the transition who have a valid email address will be able to go to the customer portal, make a "reset password" request. Set themselves a password and then login. They will see profile details alongside their pets and booking information currently in the system under their account.
You can configure the customer portal to allow for online bookings, payments, signing waivers, change requests, cancellation requests and more.
If you have reached the "Go Live" date - congratulations! This is your first day where you use Pet Manager for all the main tasks for running your business.
Your dashboard will include all checkins and checkouts for the day and you will be off to a flying start.
Remember - our support does not end here. In fact its just starting. Our team is here to support you throughout your Pet Manager journey to ensure you get the most out of the software every week.
Often times with larger businesses or those with very bespoke offerings, they may find some exact feature they require that doesn't exist in Pet Manager. In fact, most of the time it doesn't exist in any Pet Software.
That is not the end of the conversation with us though. We have many times in the past worked with facilities to develop custom features into Pet Manager to meet their custom requirements.
We can provide a quote to add these features as a priority. We only charge our labour cost in order to add these customizations.
Any features developed like this become part of the general realease of Pet Manager. This is a win for the facility and for us as it expands our offering.

We have imported from many and varied software solutions in the past - even from some software that was custom built for specific pet businesses.
If you already store your customer and pet information in a spreadsheet or if you have a program that exports in CSV format then we can often import from that too.
Please provide us with a snippet of the information and we can give you an idea of the best way to proceed.
If you are using an scheduling app like Acuity then we can import customer information. As these applications aren't specifically made for the pet industry it is often hard to import pet information as it is not stored independently.
Please perform an export from your app and provide us for a snippet for analysis on the best way to proceed.

We have knowledgeable support staff located in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. They can take you through every step of the process from setup to ongoing support. The available times are listed at the bottom of this page.
Tickets - Support is generally provided through our ticketing system accessed through HELP in the bottom right of Pet Manager.
You can submit a ticket with your specific request and we will respond in a timely manner. We do prioritize more urgent support matters.
Phone - You can also call one of our numbers in either Australia or the United Kingdom and our friendly staff will assist.
Remote/Teams/Teamviewer - For more technical issues we will arrange a remote session with you to clarify the solutions in detail.
Custom Videos - We provide custom recorded video support answers in many cases which our customers love.
All required support, through all of the channels we offer, is included in your annual or monthly subscription.
There are no additional fees associated with support.
We find that our customers require more general support when first adopting the software.
